We’ve partnered with Golf in Society to offer our community the chance to improve the lives of our aging population by introducing them to the health and wellbeing benefits of golf. Consequently, we create opportunities for people to discover how The Hertsmere can become an integral part of a happier, healthier life.

Moreover, Golf In Society provides tailored golf sessions from a PGA professional for those living with chronic illnesses like Dementia, Parkinson’s disease, Loneliness, Depression, and many more.

  • What is it?

    The Golf in Society program is a community initiative aimed at using golf as a means to promote social inclusion and well-being. Among various demographics it includes older adults and individuals with disabilities, dementia, cancer, loneliness and other personal issues.

    Participants will get involved playing golf on our putting greens, chipping greens and our amazing driving range. At all times being supported by a PGA golf professional.

  • How does it work?

    Through partnerships with golf clubs, health organizations, and local communities, the program offers tailored golf sessions designed to accommodate the needs and abilities of participants.

  • Who runs the program?

    Golf in Society is primarily run by the organization’s founder, Anthony Blackburn. With a team of dedicated staff members, volunteers, and partner organizations across various locations in the UK.

  • When is it?

    Every Thursday between 11am-1pm

  • How much is it?

    The taster sessions are completely free.

    After that, it’s just £10 for the 2 hours.

    Our tailored age-friendly golf sessions offer a fulfilling experience for those living with chronic illnesses like dementia and Parkinson’s. It also offers a precious two-hour respite for caregivers.
